Ashley valence, LMHC, NCC

I am happy to call the Sunshine State my home as I love hot sunny days and am not particularly fond of the cold. My journey in the mental health field began in my high school psychology class and eventually lead me to receive my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a certificate in Marriage, Couples, and Family Therapy from UCF. Since then I have also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, and am a Gottman Bringing Baby Home Educator.

I became a counselor because I believe that healthy humans have the ability to break cycles of unhealthy behaviors, trauma and abuse.

We may not have had control over the things that have happened to us, but we have the power to choose to heal from them. I feel honored to be able witness and support people as they find wholeness, healing, and empowerment within themselves.

No matter how small or big the issue, reaching out for help can make all the difference in helping us to deal with whatever life throws our way. I believe that counseling has the ability to set people free, help them to find peace, reconnect, and can open their eyes to the infinite possibilities there are when we take the time to invest in ourselves, our relationships, and our overall well-being.

In an effort to make counseling accessible to more individuals, I offer sliding scale and student rates, as well as a variety of morning, afternoon, evening, and Saturday appointments. I also offer free 30 minute consultations so you can ask questions, learn more about the process, and see if Iā€™m the right counselor for you before scheduling a full session. I provide services in person to people in and around the Orlando area as well as via telehealth to those in the state of Florida.
