In person and Secure TeleHealth sessions available for Floridians

“I’m not sure why I just shared all of that with you” is a comment I have heard many times in my life and is one of the reasons I chose mental health counseling as a profession. When someone is hurting and senses they are in the presence of another who is truly curious about and accepting of them, they feel seen and understood. This is where healing begins.

People in all stages of life journey through uncharted paths that can lead to confusion, anxiety, and despair. Although I work with people at any stage in life, I specialize in working with teens and young adults who struggle with suicidal ideation, self-harm, and Borderline Personality Disorder. I also have years of experience working with those in addiction and those coming out of human trafficking.

I have 4 years of experience co-directing an empowerment program for incarcerated women  struggling with substance abuse issues. Currently I am engaged in co-facilitating a DBT group with men who are incarcerated due to substance abuse. In the last 2 years, I have worked with women who have been trafficked to help them heal. This has become an engaging passion for me to sit with clients that struggle in creating a life they truly find life-giving.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) are my main treatment methods and are both backed by years of research studies showing their effectiveness in therapy. I have completed the coursework for the State of Florida Certified Addictions Counselor (CAC) designation and am a certified State of Florida Victim Advocate. As a DBT addiction therapist, I work with teens, adults, and families in their healing process.

When I am not sitting with others, you might find me at the beach, engaged in thought provoking books, enjoying a good laugh and coffee with a friend, and occasionally training for half-marathons.
