MEET vanessa poulson
My work centers on supporting individuals through life transitions, emotional turbulence, and the challenge of accepting things that cannot be changed. I have a particular interest in grief work and supporting older adults, while also working with teens, younger adults, and individuals in midlife who are navigating change, identity shifts, and emotional overwhelm.
I take a DBT-informed approach, drawing on skills that help with emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and building a life that feels more steady and meaningful. I bring warmth, humor, and a grounded presence to the therapy space, with the intention of making room for both the hard moments and the human moments.
I am especially drawn to work with people who feel stuck in intense emotions or relational uncertainty, including fears of abandonment and difficulty coping with loss or change. My goal is to walk alongside you in building a reality that feels more livable, connected, and aligned with who you want to be.
I am currently a student intern in training, continuing to grow my clinical skills while offering thoughtful, compassionate care.
